Mama's Boyz was started in 2012.
Mamas Boyz Lacrosse is a small organization on Long Island that affords young men & women an opportunity to play the sport they love while raising Breast Cancer Awareness and funds for North Shore Neighbors Breast Cancer Coalition. We practice, play hard and of course have fun with an underlying purpose to make a difference in the community. Playing is based on community service, participation in fundraising events, and simple acts of kindness like helping a neighbor in need. Our continuous efforts in fundraising have allowed us to help several local families suffering the burdens of cancer.

I didn't walk the walk but I talk the talk .….the jones beach walk was this morning, ACS making strides annual walk. No, I didn't go. Many of my FB friends did and that's great … do what speaks to you. I was here at my computer paying an oil bill for a warrior who is about to start her second bout in her fight against breast cancer. I was reaching out to another local warrior who is in the hospital but knows that when she gets home she will have grocery gift cards waiting and next month utility bills will be paid. I was paying a car insurance bill for a local woman who needs a little help while she's going through chemo in her horrific battle against Breast Cancer. I help women and families just like these ladies all year thanks to the generosity of others. Thanks to the LI2DAY Walk and Pink Aid Long Island my 2 major sources of funding. and a huge thanks to the Miller Place Cheerleaders who "flocked families" with pink flamingos during a super fun fundraiser and donated a portion to North Shore Neighbors. Woohoooo and thank you to the Miller Place Volleyball team who donate a portion of their Dig Pink fundraiser to the North Shore Neighbors, Thanks to the Thomas Scully Foundation who joined forces with the LI2Day walk to raise money to help families across Long Island fighting breast and other cancers. Thanks to the Mamas Boyz Lacrosse team who have consistently raised money for North Shore Neighbors totaling over $60,000 over the last several years. Couldn't do it with out the unending support of a group of local ladies.... the Fight Like A Girl Army who amaze me year after year and they grow their team and increase their fundraising for the LI2Day Walk and other local families. I’d never get anything done without the support of my teammates. The woohoo warriors !! I am fortunate to be the one who gets to harvest the incredible generosity of our amazing community and use it to help our neighbors who need a little bit of help during their battle. Are we making strides ? You bet we are !!!
Breast Cancer Awareness month is October! But you don't have to wait until then to help out. Donate to Mama's Boyz Lacrosse or check out the National Breast Cancer Organization's website for information on how to contribute and make a difference!
